Description
The WSET Level 1 Award in Wines is a fun introduction into the world of wine. Whether you a wine enthusiast or beginning your career in the wine industry, this is the perfect place to start. In this class, we taste 12 different wines and learn about common grape varieties and their unique characteristics, using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT). We learn about world renown wine regions, appropriate storage, and service conditions, as well as the principles of wine and food pairing.
Your Tuition includes the WSET Level 1 Study Guide, all wines, food, printed materials, exam fee, certificate, and lapel pin (if you pass the examination).

Class Format
Offered in a one-day intensive course. At this time this course is offered only in-person.
Assessment
Assessment is by a closed-book exam of 30 multiple-choice questions. A total mark of 70% is required to achieve a pass. All students who pass will be issued with a certificate and will receive a lapel pin. The examination will be taken at the end of the teaching day.
Resit Examination Information
If the candidate fails their exam they have the opportunity to re-sit at a future date. Re-sit examination fee is $100, the missed exam fee $15
Entry Requirements
You must be at least 21 years of age or older to attend the course and to participate in any alcohol tasting at the time of enrollment.
Refunds/Changes
If you need to cancel or change the date of the course for any reason you must do so 14 working days before the course starts, and we will charge a $25 administrative fee. Making changes to your reservation within 13 business days of the start date will result in an administrative change fee of 50% of the cost of the course. No refunds are given for changes made within 3 business days of the start of the course. Reorder fees will apply
Registration closes 14 days before the exam.
